Weekly Round Up1 May 2025 (by Kim Naylor (K.Bolton)) |
What a gloriously sunny week we've had! Just a reminder, with the summer weather well on the way, please ensure children have had sun cream applied before school, and bring in a hat and fresh water in a refillable bottle. Staff will ensure children have plenty opportunities to stay cool and hydrated throughout the day.
In maths this week, we have been learning to share quantities between groups equally. In their independent activities, children have been measuring caterpillars and creating repeating patterns with cubes. In our maths tuff tray, they have been able to consolidate their learning from last week on double facts; matching the doubles bug to the correct number bug hotel.
Our topic this week has been music. We have continued making our shakers and will sing a song together using them on Friday before taking them home. Children have learnt how animals make sounds with their voices but also their movements. The latter was explored with instruments later in the week. It was great to see children carefully consider how their instrument can represent the movement of their chosen animal.
The Woolly Bear Caterpillar has continued this week in literacy, children enjoyed being part of the lifecycle and ordering themselves correctly.
Thank you to everyone who brought their reading books in everyday this week, please can everyone return them on Fridays to be changed.
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!
