Curriculum
At St Cuthbert's, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. All of our planning is currently centred around 7 Areas of Learning and 17 Early Learning Goals, the expected standard a 5 year old will reach, by the end of Reception.

You will have regular opportunities to share your child's learning through the year.

We are very busy in Reception! Here is an example of the Reception Class daily routine:

10.45am-11.30am- Independent Learning
11.30am-11.45am- Music/RE/Wellbeing
11.45am-12.30pm- Lunch Time
12.30pm-12.45pm- Dough Disco/Fine Motor Activities
12.45pm-1.00pm- Collective Worship
1.00pm-1.15pm- Maths
1.15pm-2.00pm- Independent Learning
2.00pm-2.15pm- Maths Mastery
2.15pm-2.45pm- Independent Learning
2.45pm-3.15pm- Stories, Songs and Rhymes
3.15pm- Home Time
School Meals
All Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children are entitled to a free meal at lunchtime. This is called “Universal Free School Meals”. We encourage all of our children to access a hot meal at lunchtime as a way to try a broad range of healthy foods as well as to develop social skills. We will assist you as best we can with any children who are reluctant to eat/try new foods. Please see School Meals Tab under the "Parents" heading of the website for menus and further information.
