Reception1 December 2025 (by Kim Naylor (K.Bolton)) |
We have been quiet on here for a few weeks, partly due to being super busy but also we have been chasing a few photo consents.
In maths, we have been exploring a different number each week. This week our focus is on the number 9. We have been talking about two numbers that make the number 9 and exploring how it is an odd number.
We have been learning in RE all about advent and making advent promises to help others this Christmas. As part of our school’s charity work, we are doing a reverse advent. Each a day, a child will be chosen to select the advent numbered envelope which inside explains that we are asking for donations towards The Brick. By the end of the advent, our classes will have created a lovely hamper for those less fortunate this Christmas.
Children have enjoyed practicing writing CVC words (consonant, vowel, consonant – eg. Cat). Please try to continue this at home and to read regularly, making a comment in their reading book when doing so.
If anyone has any unwanted Christmas decorations, please consider donating to Reception to help decorate our classrooms.
Thank you,
Reception
